Showing In-Hand Clinic
with Jessica Wisdom
Saturday May 22, 2021
At Donida Farm Equestrian Center,
16600 SE 376th St, Auburn, WA 98092
The focus of this clinic is for the horse (weanlings through mature horses) to successfully be shown in-hand either at a breed inspection or breed show. Demonstration horses will be used for this clinic to show various aspects of training and presenting the horse.
Whether you intend to present the horse yourself or hand the horse off to a professional handler upon entering the arena, the horse needs to practice at home before the show or inspection. Practicing in-hand work allows the horse to be presented to their fullest potential. Learn how the triangle is used, how to practice standing up your horse for inspection, how to correctly hold as to not restrict movement while walking or trotting, teaching respect for their handler and safety considerations. The basic handling of a sport horse is universal with nuances for some breeds and disciplines.
This clinic will focus on the dressage sport horse for the purpose of discussing and practice of the triangle, equipment and score sheets.
